Job Description

Core Operations Technician We're looking for mechanically and electrically minded professionals who thrive in hands-on, mission-critical environments where safety, precision, and teamwork are everything. This role is ideal for technicians with backgrounds in electrical systems, HVAC, industrial maintenance, power generation, manufacturing, critical facilities, commercial buildings, healthcare facilities, hospitality facilities, or data centers who enjoy troubleshooting complex infrastructure and continuously learning new technologies. Join us at a pivotal moment as we launch a new Reno campus and participate in the commissioning and startup of a next-generation data center facility. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside manufacturers, commissioning agents, contractors, and industry subject matter experts while helping bring a brand-new facility online. Key Responsibilities Participate in commissioning, startup, and turnover activities for critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure systems. Support equipment energization, functional testing, load transfers, and system validation activities. Perform daily facility rounds and inspections of critical infrastructure. Assist in the development, testing, and refinement of operating procedures and emergency response procedures. Support operation and maintenance of liquid cooling systems and related infrastructure. Monitor and maintain facility environmental, power, and cooling requirements. Oversee vendor activities and contractor work. Utilize CMMS systems to track and document maintenance activities. Support client IT deployments and decommissioning activities involving power and cooling systems. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and perform additional duties as assigned.
Experience & Qualifications Required:
2-7 years of experience supporting critical infrastructure systems. Strong electrical background including switchgear, UPS, generators, ATS/STS, and LOTO procedures. Mechanical systems experience including chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, pumps, VFDs, and BAS. Ability to read electrical one-lines, schematics, P&IDs, and equipment manuals. Strong communication skills and commitment to safety.
Preferred:
HVAC, refrigeration, or mechanical troubleshooting experience. Mission-critical or data center experience. Commissioning, startup, or construction support experience.
OSHA 10/30, NFPA
70E, First Aid/CPR, or related certifications. Working Environment Active construction and commissioning environment. PPE required in designated construction areas. Exposure to cutting-edge liquid cooling technology. Schedule Monday-Friday day shift during commissioning. Transition to 24/7 operations as facility approaches operational readiness.
