Job Description:
Your Contribution As a Test and Measurement Controls Engineer reporting to the Head of AC Testing - NA, you will provide support for equipment and facilities used in the validation testing of automotive Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) and engine cooling components. Primary role will be supporting Industrial controls, including Siemens PLC control systems. Position requires a multidisciplinary background of both electrical and mechanical engineering relating to the support of industrial and test equipment, process control and instrumentation. Responsible for ensuring data quality and adherence to validation test specifications for components and systems as part of the product development cycle.This role is responsible to:
Design, validate, and implement controls for new test equipment and upgrades to existing equipment Installation and support of process control equipment including PLCs and set-point controllers Design, development and implementation of HMI systems Installation and support of instrumentation and data acquisition systems Size control valves, heat exchangers, pumps and equipment Diagnose refrigeration systems and equipment Engineer test equipment and facility enhancements Support technicians and troubleshoot equipment issues Determine project specifications and prepare cost estimates Develop and perform commissioning tests No direct supervisory responsibilities; provides guidance to technicians. Your Experience and Qualifications- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited 4-year college or university
- 1-10 years of experience
- Knowledge of PLC controls and HMI
- Knowledge of instrumentation, controls, electrical systems
- Familiarity with HVAC, thermodynamics
- Knowledge of Measurement System Analysis, OSHA, NFPA
- Fluent in English with strong communication skills.
- Apply advanced high school math concepts.
- Solve problems, analyze data, draw conclusions.
