Role:

A large, complex facilities organization is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support planning, design, construction, and infrastructure improvement projects across a multi-building campus environment. This role provides electrical engineering expertise for building systems, capital projects, infrastructure upgrades, and ongoing facility needs. The Electrical Engineer will serve as an internal technical resource, supporting project managers, facilities operations, outside consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders through all phases of design and construction. This position is well-suited for someone with strong building electrical systems experience, knowledge of construction processes, and the ability to coordinate technical project details from concept through closeout.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide in-house electrical engineering and design support for building and infrastructure projects.

Review electrical design submissions, drawings, specifications, and project documentation for accuracy, code compliance, constructability, and alignment with facility standards.

Support facilities operations teams with infrastructure planning, troubleshooting, and small project designs.

Assist project managers with technical guidance throughout design, bidding, construction, commissioning, and closeout phases.

Coordinate with consultants, contractors, internal departments, end users, vendors, and materials suppliers during project execution.

Manage selected capital or facilities projects from planning through completion.

Develop and maintain project scope, schedules, budgets, documentation, progress updates, submittals, contracts, payment tracking, and closeout materials.

Ensure projects comply with applicable building codes, regulatory requirements, safety standards, and organizational goals.

Help integrate new electrical systems and upgrades with existing campus infrastructure.

Support long-term planning related to electrical distribution, building systems, renovations, and infrastructure modernization.

Qualifications:
Qualifications:
Education

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field required.

Experience

Minimum of 5 years of professional electrical engineering experience.

Experience designing building electrical systems required.

Strong understanding of construction project sequencing, terminology, documentation, processes, and procedures.

Experience coordinating consultants, contractors, internal stakeholders, end users, and materials through all phases of construction projects.

Experience reviewing technical documents, managing competing priorities, and supporting multiple projects in a complex facilities environment.

Experience with electrical design and infrastructure projects in healthcare, higher education, research, institutional, commercial, or other complex facility environments preferred.

Experience working in a contract, procurement, public-sector, or capital project environment preferred.

Experience managing or supporting healthcare-related design and construction projects preferred.

Technical Skills

Knowledge of applicable building codes, electrical codes, life safety standards, and NFPA standards preferred.

Familiarity with healthcare facility design standards or regulated building environments preferred.

Familiarity with formal design guidelines, procurement procedures, and capital project processes preferred.

Experience with Microsoft Project or other scheduling software preferred.

Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, BIM tools, and electrical design/analysis software preferred.

Strong computer, documentation, analytical, and project coordination skills.

Certifications

Professional Engineer license preferred.

Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Practical, project-focused mindset with strong attention to detail.
