Job Description

Steel Equipment Specialists is a leading player in the steel equipment manufacturing and engineering industry, committed to delivering top-quality products and services to our clients. With a strong dedication to innovation, design, and commissioning, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Automation Engineer to join our team.
Primary Directive:
Develop PLC and HMI programs and provide support and expertise during commissioning and in starting up material handling systems and industrial controls for steel processing lines.
Automation Specialist Responsibilities include:
Liaise with the customer Check equipment connections and supervise electrical installation Power up electrical Controls. Start-up and commission VF drives
  • Siemens Rockwell ABB etc.
. Commission L1 Controls on site Tune and test Motion and complex control loops. Configure and test safety systems
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or technology background with a strong technical aptitude and hands-on experience; 5 years design and commissioning experience in the control and automation field. Steel industry experience will be an asset. Should have an interest in designing and commissioning of industrial control systems for Steel Mills and/or other heavy industries. The individual should also have exposure or experience in programming, designing, and commissioning PLCs, Drives and Automation systems. An interest in Mechanical systems a plus. Electrical Design background (or interest) Project management Control Systems Engineering/ and Software Development AC and DC Drive systems commissioning Process line experience a plus Fanuc Robotic experience a plus Software skills: HMI development : Siemens and Rockwell Platforms PLC software engineering : Siemens and Rockwell Platforms Configure and setup of S120 Sinamics, Rockwell Powerflex 755 . Software Computer skills
Design:
MS Office, Power Point, Excel This position does require extensive travel (up to 30%). Benefits
