Job Description

Steel Equipment Specialists is a leading player in the steel equipment manufacturing and engineering industry, committed to delivering top-quality products and services to our clients. With a strong dedication to innovation, design, and commissioning, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Automation Engineer to join our team.

This position is part of the SES Electrical Engineering department in its capacity for controls hardware design of all SES engineering projects. This position will take leadership from the Chief Electrical Engineer and report directly to the Electrical Project Manager assigned to each task.
Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for industrial controls systems design; under the supervision of the assigned Project Manager. Must have proven experience in PLC and AC Drive system design with any of the following hardware systems: Rockwell, Siemens, Lenze, GE Fanuc, Bosch Rexroth, Mitsubishi, etc.
Minimum Requirements:
The following requirements are essential for this position:

Panel design and layout, bill of materials, cable schedule, and wiring schematic capabilities are expected with this position. This designer must be able to work with minimal supervision and perform all required electrical engineering calculations associated with this type of hardware design. All designs will be done using AutoCAD Electrical. Knowledge of UL508A Standards is required (Build Practices and Component Selection).The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in engineering design as well as the ability to implement standard engineering practices and provide detailed documentation upon project completion. A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position is required. Some travel will be required during the hardware checkout phase of each project. The candidate may also be asked to participate in minor PLC troubleshooting and AC Drive configuration activities. Benefits
