Corporate planning contributes to or supports planning activities that affect the entire organization. Department planning entails establishing specific goals, budgets, staffing plans, and timelines that align with the department's objectives. Lead the design and analysis of complex electrical systems for renewable generation, energy storage, and utility-scale substation projects. Establish specific goals and staffing plans that align with the department's objectives for the Power Delivery practice. Coordinate workloads through the entire project development cycle to ensure documents are completed on schedule. Measures Alignment of project outcomes with department growth goals. Accuracy of staffing and timeline projections. Successful integration of multi-disciplined team efforts. Business Development - Marketing and Sales. Process of identifying, creating, and expanding opportunities that drive growth. Prepare project specifications, electrical construction cost estimates, and proposals to support the growth of electrical engineering service areas locally and nationally. Participate in marketing initiatives and identify new opportunities within the renewable energy and utility sectors. Conduct due diligence, feasibility, and conceptual design studies for inverter-based resource interconnection. Measures Proposal win rate. Expansion of client base in renewables and power delivery. Quality and accuracy of utility master plan reports. Project Administration. Coordinate, organize, and support projects to ensure they are complete, on time, within scope, and on budget. Focuses on administrative, documentation, and communication that enable teams to work efficiently and achieve objectives. Responsible for the development of design documents and reports, including electrical design plans, equipment selection and power analyses. Track financial aspects of projects and adjust work effort to ensure completion within budget parameters. Daily interaction and collaboration on multi-disciplinary teams. Measures Projects completed on time, within scope and within scope. Project profitability and adherence to labor budgets. Coordination efficiency across teams Technology. Application of technical knowledge and the use of specialized tools, software, or systems are required to perform job tasks efficiently and meet organizational goals. Perform complex calculations including short-circuit, arc flash, load flow, grounding, and sag/tension analyses using ETAP, or equivalent. Lead transient studies using PSCAD, EMTP-RV, or equivalent, and lighting/photometric designs. Design equipment schematics, block diagrams, one-line diagrams, and physical substation layouts in AutoCAD. Measures Proficiency in power system analysis and transient study software. Technical accuracy of engineering design packages. Effective use of 2D/3D design tools. Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC). The process and inspections used to ensure that all work meets established standards, specifications, and client requirements through the prevention, detection, and correction of errors. Perform quality reviews for other engineers and designers to ensure compliance with company standards, national standards, and client standards (IEEE, ANSI). Prepare and review equipment specifications for procurement and factory acceptance testing. Maintain Professional Engineer (PE) licensure and stay current with industry codes (NEC, NESC, etc.) Participate in annual training programs that support company objectives and employee growth. Special Project and Assignments - Assumes responsibilities for special assignment delegated by … Travel to support site visits and client meetings as needed. Provide short-term field support and troubleshooting for renewable energy facilities and substation equipment. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering from and ABET accredited program. 4+ years of experience in an Electrical Engineering role, with a focus on consulting and power systems. Professional Engineer (PE) license. Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), IEE, and ANSI Standards. Experience with utility-scale substation, PV, wind generation, or energy storage design. Electric vehicle charging infrastructure, microgrid, or data center designs. Engineering project management and proficiency in AutoCAD. Experience with transient studies (PSCAD) and lighting design (AG132).
