Applied Controls is a subsidiary of FloWorks International LLC, which is a privately held company located in Houston, Texas. Job Information The Project Engineer is responsible for designing safe, high-quality, and robust analyzer system integrations, as well as managing projects from initiation through closeout within a structured project management framework. This role serves as the primary point of contact for clients during project execution and coordinates the efforts of a multidisciplinary internal team. Key Responsibilities Review detailed client specifications, estimates, drawings, process flow diagrams, and P&IDs to define and document technical scope requirements. Identify project scope requirements and complete required project initiation activities to support effective project kickoffs. Develop and manage project schedules and budgets to track progress and cost performance. Prepare and deliver weekly project status reports. Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle. Design safe, cost-effective, and high-quality industrial analyzer systems for process and environmental applications in refinery, chemical, power, and cement facilities. Collaborate with client and vendor technical resources, as well as internal subject matter experts, to develop and finalize system designs. Perform required engineering calculations to support system design. Complete electrical system designs and drawings, as required, in coordination with electrical subject matter experts, including power distribution, panel schedules, UPS protection, lighting, and controls. Coordinate with Drafting personnel to produce complete and accurate system drawings. Verify the accuracy and completeness of all information shown on system drawings. Select appropriate equipment and components in accordance with client specifications and applicable industry standards. Develop PLC ladder logic as required for system functionality. Coordinate with Service personnel for PLC, HMI, VFD, controller, and analyzer programming and setup. Develop and execute factory acceptance test procedures. Provide project leadership and direction to internal teams, including Drafting, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Accounting, and Service, throughout the project lifecycle. Lead or coordinate post-project lessons learned reviews to support continuous improvement. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Organizational skills and time management Effective communications skills both written and verbal for interface with Clients and co-workers Ability to multitask, use initiative, and sometimes work under pressure to achieve deadlines Motivation to contribute to and develop with the company as growth / diversification continues Ability to work in a team environment (Field Sales, Engineering, Customer Service, Accounting) Effective computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite and other Company and discipline specific software applications Practical working knowledge of NEC, UL, and CSA standards. Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of three (3) years of project engineering experience.
