• Relay Location:

  KAMO Power Headquarters
• Vinita, Oklahoma KAMO Power is seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Engineer II
• Relay.

This is an exempt position that is responsible for applying engineering techniques for substation relaying and metering design, NERC compliance, miss-operations, reviews and event analysis, communication equipment configuration and system protection with moderate supervision by manager, including assignments, techniques and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

With moderate supervision, generate accurate Substation Relaying and Metering design including drawings, specifications and material lists. Perform relay settings calculations, coordination studies, and fault analysis Prepare and review relay settings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation Support commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of protective relaying equipment Analyze system disturbances and outages; recommend corrective actions Coordinate with operations, engineering, and field personnel on relay-related projects Ensure compliance with NERC, IEEE, and applicable industry standards Provide technical guidance and support to engineers and technicians Assist with system planning, upgrades, and protection & control capital projects

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil Engineering or related field 3-5 years of experience in protective relaying or power system engineering Working knowledge of:

• Protective relays and relay coordination principles
• Fault analysis and power system protection methods
• SEL, GE, ABB, Siemens, or similar relay platforms
• One-line diagrams, schematics, and wiring diagrams Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one preferred Experience with transmission and distribution systems, SCADA, and NERC compliance preferred All levels of experience welcome.

Job level and pay grade will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
