Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. We are seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to join our team. This internship offers hands-on experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment, providing opportunities to work alongside experienced professionals while supporting projects focused on electrical systems, process reliability, automation, and operational performance. What You'll Be Doing Assist with troubleshooting and improving electrical and control systems throughout the plant. Analyze equipment performance data to identify reliability and efficiency opportunities. Support automation, instrumentation, and process control improvement initiatives. Participate in safety, maintenance, and engineering projects that drive operational excellence. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement practical engineering solutions. What Are We Looking For Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Ability to apply electrical engineering principles to solve technical and operational challenges. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Effective communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate across departments. Demonstrated commitment to safety, continuous improvement, and learning in an industrial environment. Work Environment Work is performed in both office and industrial plant settings. Regular interaction with production, maintenance, reliability, and engineering teams. Exposure to electrical equipment, automation systems, noise, dust, and varying environmental conditions. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided and required when working in operational areas.
