The position is responsible for the design and implementation of electrical and panel layouts for the MECCO Custom Solutions engraving machines. The Electrical Design Engineer will be successful in this position by leveraging their expertise in the creation of electrical schematics, design and construction of prototypes, and validation of products by performing various electrical tests. They will support our Engraving Solutions business through the entire product development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing, production, and ongoing support. This is an on-site role at our office located in Cranberry, PA . #LI-EA1
Requirements:
Lead the end-to-end electrical design process for customized Laser and Dot Peen marking systems, developing comprehensive schematic and panel layout packages using advanced features in AutoCAD Electrical. Select, evaluate, and specify critical electrical components (e.g., circuit breakers, relays, sensors, power supplies) to optimize system performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Produce and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and supporting technical documentation throughout the product lifecycle. Develop, test, and implement robust automation programs for customized systems, primarily utilizing Rockwell Allen-Bradley PLCs and associated programming software. Collaborate within the custom solution engineering team to ensure design meets project specifications and seamlessly integrates with mechanical and software components. Provide expert technical support during system build, testing, and commissioning, occasionally traveling (approx. 10%) to customer sites for inspections, installations, and start-ups.
