SUMMER 2027
Shure offers a challenging, fun, and rewarding summer internship program. The twelve-week program is offered to undergraduate and graduate students. We offer internships with a variety of work arrangements from onsite interns to fully remote in US. Each intern will receive a competitive salary. Additionally, Interns who are asked to relocate to Illinois for onsite internships will receive a housing stipend to cover living expenses. Applications will be collected, reviewed, and selected candidates will be contacted in late fall/early winter. Under direct supervision of manager/mentor, the Automated Test Engineering (Hardware) Intern assists in the design of electronic and acoustical production test fixtures and systems to test the functionality of company products in all production facilities. This Internship is Onsite and based in our Niles, IL location. Responsibilities Assist in developing written test plans based on new product requirements and product schematics. Assist in developing new test capabilities using off-the-shelf solutions, software-defined test instrumentation, or custom-designed hardware. Creates and maintains schematics, bills of materials, test specifications, and other necessary documentation to support test systems and fixtures. Creates and maintains functional test programs to automate test equipment measurements, signal path switching, and product control. Provides basic electrical verification and troubleshooting of test fixtures, components, and test racks (continuity, voltages, etc.). Troubleshoots measurement issues such as voltage levels, RF (radio frequency) output power, RF and audio frequency response, RF sensitivity, and noise floor. Analyzes the reliability and capability of test fixtures, software, and systems, using statistical tools. Assists in the construction of functional test fixtures, which entails soldering wires/connectors, and populating printed circuit board components. Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications In-process of a bachelor's or Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering (Preferably Junior/Senior) Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools Basic troubleshooting and analytical skills Experience with common measurement instruments: DMM and Oscope Highly-organized and willing to learn Able to follow standard instructions, practices and procedures provided by mentor Self-motivated, team player, detail oriented Good verbal and written communication skills Applicants for this position must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
