Start Date:
ASAP We are seeking a skilled Control & Power System Engineer to support advanced HVDC and power system control projects with Siemens Energy in Raleigh, NC. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge grid modernization and high-voltage technologies in a collaborative engineering environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop open-loop and closed-loop control systems for High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) applications
  • Implement control and protection software using MATLAB/Simulink
  • Perform verification and validation through Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing environments
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams, customers, and suppliers to clarify technical requirements and support project execution
  • Prepare technical documentation including design specifications, training materials, effort estimates, and engineering reports
  • Support automation system configuration and integration activities Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus in Power Systems, Controls, or related discipline
  • Prior experience working with power systems, converter technology, or HVDC systems
  • Strong proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink including model-based design and verification
  • Understanding of protection systems, control theory, and automation systems
  • Experience with SIL/HIL testing environments preferred
  • Strong communication and documentation skills Additional Details
  • Hybrid schedule: onsite office/lab work required 3-4 days per week
  • Standard 40-hour work week
  • No travel required
  • Laptop provided
  • Relocation assistance may be considered, though not formally defined; candidates must relocate within the first month if not local to Raleigh
