Job Description

Distribution Design Engineer I Start Your Career in Power Delivery Launch your engineering career with a nationally recognized team supporting the transformation of critical energy infrastructure and the safe, reliable delivery of power to communities. This role is ideal for an early-career engineer who wants hands-on experience, strong mentorship, and the opportunity to grow in a collaborative, innovation-driven environment. What You'll Do Assist with the design of electric and gas distribution systems for utility infrastructure projects. Prepare overhead and underground design packages using AutoCAD and related tools. Participate in field visits, gather site data, and help identify design issues and practical solutions. Perform basic engineering calculations and maintain accurate project documentation. Work closely with experienced engineers while learning industry standards, utility practices, and project delivery expectations. What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. 0-2 years of experience, including internships, co-ops, or relevant academic projects. Familiarity with power systems, utilities, or infrastructure design. Experience with AutoCAD or similar design software. Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and a willingness to learn in a team-focused environment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, MO. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
