Job Description Position Summary:
A leading global chemical company is looking for an experienced E&I Engineer for its production facility in the greater Cleveland area. This plant is commutable from the southeast Houston area. The E&I Engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining and improving the safety and reliability of electrical distribution equipment and instrumentation throughout the site. This role will lean more toward the power side, troubleshooting and focusing on electrical reliability.Key Responsibilities:
Assist the site E&I maintenance team as an engineering resource. Lead and /or serve on root cause failure analysis and incident investigation teams. Develop detailed work scopes for engineered projects. Develop maintenance work procedures and preventive maintenance procedures. Demonstrate knowledge ofNEC, NESC, NFPA
70B, andNFPA 70E.
Working knowledge of power system analysis and protective relays. Investigate instrument failures and issue recommendations to eliminate further occurrences. Participate in Process Safety Management process. Provide engineering support for projects, TARs, and capital projects. Provide troubleshooting assistance for unusual or persistent I&E problems. site I&E engineering technical procedures and national standards. Work with operations, engineering, and technicians to identify and prioritize reliability improvement. Read instrumentation loop sheets, P&ID drawings, one and three-line drawings. Read function block, ladder logic, and responsible for PLC program and narrative changes. Size and select instruments and control valves. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Communicate daily with operations and maintenance persons in the field.Qualifications:
Education/Experience Undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field is required. 5+ Years of experience are ideal (3-10+) Electrical Experience with SKM power tool software is a plus. Ability to troubleshoot motor controls through 4160 volts. Size conduits, cables for motors, MCCs, feeders, etc. Work with outside vendors on coordination, load flow, arc flash, and other studies related to the plant's electrical system.
