Compensation Range:
$75,000 - $90,000 Electrical & Controls Engineer Remote - VA, TX, TN, WV, SD, MD, PA, OH, AZ, or UT Up to 50% U.S. Travel | International Travel May Be Required in the Future Design the Controls Behind Mission-Critical Cooling Munters is a global leader in climate solutions for mission-critical environments. We are seeking a Lead Electrical & Controls Engineer to join our R&D Service Engineering team and help design, test, and improve custom HVAC and data center cooling solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced electrical or controls engineer who enjoys working across controls design, programming, electrical systems, HVAC, testing, and field support . What You'll Do Lead controls layout, design, programming, and testing for complex HVAC and air-handling systems. Develop and troubleshoot DDC/PLC controls programs and control loops . Design electrical schematics, controls layouts, and parts lists for custom equipment. Research and implement controls technologies including sensors, actuators, VFDs, and communication networks. Develop controls solutions for complex air handlers and heat-transfer systems. Support R&D prototype testing in our Texas and Virginia labs. Provide technical support for products after installation and shipment. Train Controls Technicians on controls programming, troubleshooting, and system operation. Support electrical diagram and controls program updates for existing systems. Participate in Kaizen and cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives. Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM), cost reduction, and product improvement efforts. Create and maintain training guides, standards, and technical documentation. Travel up to 50% to support customers, projects, testing, and field activities. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or equivalent experience. 5-8 years of experience in data center controls, HVAC controls, electrical systems, or related engineering. Advanced experience programming DDC/PLC controllers . Advanced knowledge of Automated Logic Controls (ALC) WebCTRL is highly preferred. Experience with AutoCAD Electrical . Strong understanding of HVAC systems and controls. Practical knowledge of three-phase power systems . Ability to design and troubleshoot low-voltage control systems. Strong technical problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating across Engineering, R&D, Service, and Operations.
