The position offers the opportunity to work on prestigious and technically demanding projects, including museums, performing arts centers, universities, historic landmarks, and other institutional facilities. The successful candidate will take significant ownership of electrical projects, working from concept through completion while coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, and clients. The role combines hands-on electrical design with project leadership, client interaction, and mentorship of junior engineers. Key Responsibilities Design electrical building systems and components from concept through project completion Lead, oversee, and monitor electrical design and technical specifications Serve as a primary point of contact for electrical engineering projects Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, clients, and other project stakeholders Conduct technical reviews of electrical systems and component designs Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and project-specific requirements Manage daily electrical project activities and deliverables Coordinate project schedules and support projects in meeting budget requirements Perform engineering calculations, data analysis, and spreadsheet-based calculations Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior electrical engineers Manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously Identify technical challenges and develop practical engineering solutions Maintain strong client relationships and proactively address client expectations Lead electrical engineering efforts on medium- and large-scale projects Support projects throughout the full MEP design and engineering lifecycle Qualifications Approximately 5-7 years of electrical engineering and MEP/building systems design experience Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required Demonstrated experience providing electrical engineering services Institutional project experience strongly preferred Strong electrical systems and component design experience Understanding of electrical system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting Proficiency with Revit Experience with AGI or similar lighting design software Experience with SKM or similar power distribution calculation software Strong engineering calculation, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects and deadlines Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work directly with clients and serve as a project point of contact Previous experience supervising, mentoring, or leading other engineers beneficial LEED AP certification beneficial Lighting design certification beneficial Energy modeling experience beneficial Why Consider This Opportunity?
