Role Overview The Engineer I, Turbine Controls role is an entry-level engineering opportunity for individuals starting their career in gas and steam turbine controls systems. This position plays a key role in supporting commissioning, testing, devices calibration, and system verification activities across customer sites. The position also leads efforts, collaborates with leadership, and provides strategic oversight to ensure efficiencies. This position requires significant travel and hands-on work with turbine controls equipment, instrumentation, and electrical systems. Key Responsibilities Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control documentation. Calibrate and verify field devices including transmitters, sensors, and other instrumentation. Perform system checks including slot assignments, output verification, failsafe structure validation, loop checks, and function testing. Operate electrical test equipment such as multimeters and mergers. Conduct instrument loop calculations and operational setpoint verification. Prepare accurate field reports documenting conditions, corrective actions, and results. Perform additional duties as assigned to support commissioning and field work. Always possess a valid and up to date driver's license and passport. Requirements A bachelor's degree in relevant Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or related field) discipline or technical diploma from college or university. Three years of military experience in a relevant technical role. One year of experience in related engineering or controls environment. Multilingual in Japanese, Spanish and/or Portuguese would be an asset. Strong analytical skills related to engineering problem solving. Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, electronic mail required. Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and organizational skills.
