Job SummaryTo support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Head of Electrical Safety (Authorised Person), located remotely in the UK.Reporting to the Global EHS Director, the Head of Electrical Safety will be part of an excellent Global EHS team with the responsibility for providing the organisation with the legally required level of electrical competence to ensure electrical safety, compliance, investigation capability and technical governance across all operations. You will act as the formally appointed Electrical Authorised Person, responsible for ensuring the safe operation, isolation, and control of electrical systems across Critical Power, and for maintaining full compliance with the Electricity at Work Regulations (EAWR 1989) and internal Electrical Safety Rules.

This role is safety critical with direct accountability for electrical risk control, permit to work authorisation and safe system of work implementation.

This is a global role and therefore global travel will be required on an ADHOC basis. What a typical day looks like: Act as the Authorized Person for LV/HV systems for all critical power activities ensuing compliance with EAWR 1989, BS7671 and company electrical safety rulesMaintain and enforce safe systems of workIssue, control and close Permit to Work and Isolation ControlAuthorize switching operations and isolation and energization activitiesReview and approve Risk Assessment & Method Statements (RAMS)Ensure all electrical systems are inspected, maintained and testedLead investigations into electrical incidents, near misses and HiPos, implementing corrective and preventative actionsManage contractors ensuring they are competent and authorised and work in line with RAMS and permitsSupervise high risk activities and stop unsafe work immediately, rejecting RAMS or permits and refusing energisation when requiredProvide training and support development of competent persons and wider electrical teamsDeliver briefings and toolbox talks on electrical safety, permit to work and isolation proceduresIdentify and implement improvements to electrical safety systems and risk controls The experience we're looking to add to our team: NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation (or equivalent) and degree in Electrical Engineering or similar18th Edition Wiring regs (BS7671)Formal Authorized Person (AP) appointment in the past working with at least LV systems, experience with HV is advantageousExperience with ISO19011 and hold audit qualificationsStrong understanding of EAWR requirementsMinimum 5 years Electrical experience and minimum 2 years in AP roleExperience in manufacturing, ideally critical power or industrial environmentsExtensive experience working with a diverse range of products, including bespoke items with varying deadlinesStrong strategic thinking and problem-solving skillsEffective interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and influence positive outcomesStrong understanding of electrical risk and hazard controlHigh personal accountability and safety leadershipAbility to challenge unsafe behaviorsKnowledgeable of Anord Mardix Electrical products, services and competitors (Preferred) What you'll receive for the great work you provide: An environment where you will feel fulfilled by your work, valued for your contribution, and celebrated for your success;A competitive salary and benefits package which includes:
