The Undersea and Electronics Systems (UES) Department in Portsmouth, RI is seeking an Electrical Engineer with experience in analog, digital, mixed signal design as well as software development skills including embedded software and GUI tool development. The desired candidate has a current Secret clearance, is highly technical, and able to work with minimal oversight as well as the ability to manage projects. - Technical design experience in the areas of Analog, Digital, Mixed Signal, fiber optics, FPGAs, and Software Design, including embedded software and GUI design. Some travel to integration sites, plus customer and subcontractor facilities, may be required.
- Experience working to program requirements and schedules to define project goals, scope, and deliverables.
- Support regular reviews of program status including tracking and review by both Engineering and Program Leadership. Act as the primary point of contact for project updates, ensuring clear communication with Engineering and Program leadership.
- Extensive knowledge of hardware engineering capabilities to ensure successful technical execution.
- Desire to support cost estimating, management, and technical status for the execution of the capital project.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years' experience
- Experience in the areas of Analog, Digital, Mixed Signal, Fiber optics.
- Experience in signal processing using tools such as Matlab.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.
Qualifications We Value:
- Experience working Naval Programs in the subject areas of acoustics, torpedoes, mine warfare, submarines, and/or Unmanned Undersea Vehicles (UUVs).
- Relevant professional experience participating on cross-functional teams.
- Advanced degree in Engineering discipline.
- Proven ability to lead technical discussions to closure.
- Experience participating in production and test activities.
- Experience supporting proposal generation, both cost and technical.
- Process improvement i.e. CORE/ Six Sigma Certification.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; both verbal and written.
- Collaborate in teams or independently, flexible, demonstrates initiative.
- Experience in agile hardware and software development and management using SCRUM.
- Strong knowledge of software application development to support data collection and system integration.
- Strong knowledge of engineering design tools and processes.
- Time management of complex tasks across competing priorities.
- Experience participating in design and development activities.
- Support of technical development for proposals.
- Experience mentoring junior engineers.
- Ability to travel in support of program activities domestically.
