Join the MEPPI Team! Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc. (MEPPI) is seeking a Principal Quality Engineer to provide technical consultation and leadership as well as performing all essential functions of a lead project engineer or supporting project engineer for multiple substation project orders. This is a hybrid position based in Warrendale, PA.
What You'll Do:
Individually and through other project engineers, design, develop and implement all engineering facets of substation projects including but not limited to, equipment design, outside contractor involvement, assembly and testing. Compile and analyze operational, test, and research data to establish performance standards for newly designed or modified equipment or product and to determine if design meets functional and performance specifications. Provide engineering leadership by serving as the primary contact person for design issues identified by other groups and divisions. Lead significant design projects, primarily involving participation and coordination with other groups and divisions. Conduct product, technology or other training as required. Provide technical consultation to engineering as well as other groups and divisions. Consult on and/or review major development programs through review meetings, personal consultations, etc. Provide input on the company and TMT and D's development program planning. Review and define the scope for new development tasks by serving as the contact person on special tasks, problems, new designs, etc. Establish priority, schedule, and staffing assignments with the Engineering Manager. Prepare engineering time and manpower estimates for proposals and orders. Provide back-up support for Engineering Manager and functional supervision to all levels of engineers as necessary. Represent the company to customers, TMT and D personnel and technical societies
What You'll Bring:
A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, plus a minimum of 10 year's of experience in a project related environment. Expertise in substation theory, application, subsystems, field installation and testing. Computer experience, with emphasis on MSOffice products, CAD and engineering analysis software.
