Job Description

About the role Alares self-performs mechanical, structural, and architectural design and we need an senior electrical engineer to round out the team. You will be the electrical Engineer of Record on healthcare, federal, and private design projects: power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, emergency and standby power, and arc-flash studies, much of it in occupied hospitals where phasing and continuity of operations matter. This is a build-the-discipline seat, not a slot in a 200-person department. You set how we do electrical design, mentor the designers who follow, and have a defined path toward principal and equity ownership. What you'll do
  • Serve as electrical
EOR:
power, lighting, fire alarm, normal/emergency/standby systems, grounding, arc-flash and short-circuit/coordination studies.
  • Produce and stamp construction documents; coordinate with our in-house mechanical, structural, and architectural teams.
  • Work directly with clients and VA/DoD/GSA project staff — no layers between you and the people you're designing for.
  • Help stand up our electrical standards, QA process, and the junior pipeline. What you bring
  • Licensed PE with an electrical discipline; NCEES Record and/or multi-state licensure strongly preferred (our work is nationwide).
  • Building-systems electrical design experience — healthcare, federal, institutional, or commercial.
  • Comfort with occupied-facility and renovation phasing.
  • Fire-alarm design experience is a plus (a large share of our work). Why Alares
  • Ownership, not anonymity — direct client contact and a real principal track.
  • Variety — VA, DoD, GSA, and private healthcare. You won't be doing one client type forever.
  • Stability — 19 years in business, grown from 18 to 49 people in two years
  • Mission — veteran-founded (West Point '80, Army), SDVOSB.
  • Flexibility — hybrid or remote for the right candidate; two offices (MA and FL).
Compensation:
[Electrical PE base salary range — e.g. $120-150K] plus bonus
Benefits:
[Benefits — health / 401k + match / PTO / license support]
Apply:
[Application email] — resume + a project list you stamped or led.
Pay:
$120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
Work Location:
Hybrid remote in Sarasota, FL 34236
