Full Job Description Senior Electrical Engineer Location:
Smithfield Compensation:
$115,000-$165,000 (depending on experience) We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, testing, and implementation of advanced electrical systems and products. This role is ideal for an experienced, hands-on engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys solving complex technical challenges from concept through production. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in electrical hardware design, system integration, troubleshooting, and cross-functional project leadership. This position offers the opportunity to work on innovative technologies while helping mentor junior engineering talent and influence future product development initiatives. Key Responsibilities Lead the design and development of electrical systems, circuits, and components for both new and existing products Drive projects from concept through prototyping, testing, validation, and production release Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure seamless product integration Develop schematics, PCB layouts, BOMs, specifications, test procedures, and engineering documentation Conduct simulations, root-cause analysis, troubleshooting, and performance validation testing Ensure designs meet applicable regulatory and safety standards including UL, IEC, NEC, and FCC requirements Identify opportunities to improve reliability, manufacturability, performance, and cost efficiency Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and design guidance to junior engineers Support product certification efforts and manufacturing transition activities Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous engineering process improvements Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (Master's degree preferred) 5-8+ years of experience in electrical engineering, hardware design, or related product development roles Strong experience with circuit design and development tools such as Altium, OrCAD, KiCad, or PSpice Solid understanding of: Analog and digital circuit design Power electronics Embedded systems PCB design and layout principles Hands-on experience with electrical lab and testing equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, and logic analyzers Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills Preferred Experience High-speed PCB design experience Knowledge of embedded firmware, microcontrollers, or FPGA development Background in industrial systems, automation, robotics, or renewable energy technologies Experience with DFMEA, reliability engineering, and design-for-manufacturability practices PE license or progress toward licensure is a plus #CNX200
