Role Overview:

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer to design low voltage switchboards and panelboards. This role is based in the Charleston area, with relocation support available for the right candidate. You will play a key role in developing complex electrical systems and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring designs from concept to production.

Key Responsibilities:

Design low voltage switchboards and panelboards in compliance with applicable standards and regulations Create 3D sheet metal components and flat patterns Develop complex 3D assemblies with large multi-component BOMs Produce wiring diagrams including PLCs, relays, breakers, and power systems Generate 2D drawings including layouts, single-line diagrams, and front views Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and vendors to ensure accurate execution Translate client requirements into practical and efficient design solutions

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related field) 3 to 5 years of experience in an electro-mechanical or similar environment Strong proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (Autodesk preferred) Solid understanding of electrical systems and design principles Strong communication and collaboration skills

Preferred:

Experience with UL standards (UL891, UL67, UL508A, UL1558) Familiarity with the National Electrical Code (NEC) Experience sizing conductors and overcurrent protection devices (OCPDs) Knowledge of control circuits and electrical logic
