Job Description

An Electrical PLC Engineer / Controls Engineer / PLC Engineer is required for a leading global Engineering Manufacturer. This Electrical PLC Engineer / Controls Engineer / PLC Engineer will be site-based in Augusta, and will be responsible for optimising PLC performance by reading schematics, diagnosing faults, and completing any remedial action, as well as working on various voltage electrical systems. The Electrical PLC Engineer / Controls Engineer / PLC Engineer will ideally come from an electrical background within an industrial setting, having programmed and developed PLCs, and having a good understanding of a variety of automation components such as sensors, actuators, and communication protocols such as
TCP/IP, Profibus, and ProfiNet Benefit:

PLC Engineer Role:
Will be responsible for optimising PLC performance by reading schematics, diagnosing faults, and completing any remedial action, as well as working on various voltage electrical systems. Create, develop and modify PLC programs for new and existing industrial systems. Design and support electrical circuits for low voltage, medium voltage and AC/DC applications. Develop electrical documentation, including bills of materials, schematics, wiring details and conduit schedules. Diagnose automation logic faults, I/O issues, communication problems and control circuit failures. Support I/O checkout, firmware loading, communication setup and commissioning activity following upgrades or installations. Work with production, maintenance, electrical, mechanical, process and quality teams to improve system reliability and manufacturing efficiency. Electrical PLC Engineer / Controls Engineer /
PLC Engineer Requirements:
Will ideally come from an electrical background within an industrial setting, having programmed and developed PLCs, and have a good understanding of a variety of automation components such as sensors, actuators, and communication protocols such as TCP/IP, Profibus, and ProfiNet Proven experience as an Electrical PLC Engineer, Controls Engineer, PLC Engineer, Automation Engineer or similar industrial controls role. Experience with Siemens PLC is highly desirable. Good understanding of PLC programming languages, including ladder logic, function block diagrams and structured text. Knowledge of industrial communication protocols. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings and mechanical drawings. Experience with sensors, actuators, I/O signalling, safety circuits and machine safety best practice. A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or a related field is preferred, although relevant experience will also be considered.
Pay:
$95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
