Electrical Engineer Spectra Tech, Inc. United States, Tennessee, Oak Ridge 1006 Floyd Culler Court (Show on map) Sep 08, 2026 Provide CNS Mission Engineering with full time electrical design engineering support in Y-12 Facility Design for facility and production area activities needed to expedite the closure of Change Requests for Configuration Managed systems that have been returned to service for longer than 90 days. The responsibilities for the design engineer are:
The Engineer must have familiarity with and experience in developing design output in accordance with CNS and consensus national standards (ie. NFPA 70/ National Electrical Code, ASME, etc.);
Experience in a NRC or DOE regulated environment is desirable along with an understanding of Conduct of Engineering and Conduct of Operations for facilities operating within a nuclear regulated environment;
Have strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interface effectively with various production and support organizations
Review Change Requests(CRs) for systems that have been Returned to Service (RTS) >90days that have not been closed;
Identify the Affected Documents associated with CRs RTS that need to be revised to reflect the work covered by the CR;
Perform walkdowns as needed to verify that the work covered by the CRs has been performed;
Review and compare information shown on Affected Documents to work defined by the CRs;
Prepare redline markups of Affected Documents to reflect the incorporation of the work covered by the CRs,
Provide the redlined copy of the Affected Documents to drafting personnel for incorporation onto the Parent CM document;
Provide check/verification that Affected Documents reflect incorporation of CR information correctly. Requires an ABET accredited BS Degree in Electrical Engineering discipline plus 10 or more years of relevant professional experience. Ability to obtain Q clearance required.
