What to Expect

As an Electrical Engineer with Tesla's Facilities team, you will play an integral role in the growth and maintenance of our facilities. Candidates shouldpossessdirect construction experience building high-tech infrastructure and operational facilities from industries such as semiconductors, solar, battery, etc. This is a field-based position to support 24/7manufacturingfacilitieslocatednear Brookshire, TX What You'll Do

Conduct comprehensive energy audits and load calculations toidentifyoptimization opportunities.



Conduct circuitanalysisidentifyingcriticalloads andestablishingeffective voltage sag protection methods

Manage the operation of medium and low voltage distribution equipment;program protective relays, low voltage breakersin alignment with protection/coordination studies

Prepareengineering specificationsfor bid invitations,leadthe technicaland commercial evaluation ofvendor proposals to ensure complianceand vendor alignment

Partner with Operations and Maintenance teams to plan and execute downtimeactivitiescoordinating schedules, resourceneedsand stakeholder alignment

Review design plans/specifications prepared by others and provide base cost estimating services within electrical scope, and work with trades to drive value for Tesla

Visit construction sites todeterminecompliance with design intent, reporting discrepancies, errors and omissions andutilizesthis input to update standards, processes, and procedures

Establishes standards and specifications for installation, modification, quality control, testing, operation, inspection, and maintenance of Emergency Power Supply System (EPSS) and high voltage electrical systems according to commissioning standards, NFPA requirements, EPSS engineering principles and safety regulations

Provide technical and configuration support for the implementation and maintenance of energy systemsutilizingtracking techniques and trending software and leading root cause analysis on process or asset failures

Work across sites todeterminecommonality and implement best practicestoimproveelectrical assetreliabilityand maintainability What You'll Bring

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineeringor the equivalent in experience and evidence of exceptional ability

10+ years of direct facilities experience building high-tech infrastructure and operational facilities (semiconductor, solar, battery, etc.)

Professional registration as an Electrical Engineer in the State of California or from another state preferred

Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment

Ability tointerface withmultiple engineering disciplines

Experience with MV & HVequipment including -Design,operating/maintaining the equipment, trouble shooting and programming /adjusting medium voltage relays

Advanced knowledge and experience in Electric utility substation and distribution system engineering, maintenance, and operations; electric utility distribution system switchgear; ability to read electric utility system drawings (one-lines, three-lines, schematics, etc.)

Experience inelectricalpowersystem analysis software (SKM Power Tools preferred) to perform load-flow, fault-duty, protective device coordination, and arc-flash studies; experience executing financial and feasibility studies that guide stakeholder decision making.

Well versed andsignificant experiencein electric utility system safe work practicesin accordance withthe

OSHA, HAZMAT

safety protocols and other applicable codes and standards (IEEE C37, C57, etc.); National Electrical Code, NFPA 70E, and

IEEE 1584

Proventrack recordof managing budgets and evaluating construction related quotes and contracts
