Essential Duties and Responsibilities Creates electrical installation design solutions for aircraft interior, including wire routing, harnesses, and equipment installations using Computer Aided Drafting/Design tools, ensuring Fit, Form and Function. Creates a drawing list of assigned wire and / or electrical equipment installations for project level STC. Ensures electrical designs meet customer criteria, quality standards and FAA requirements. Experienced in writing technical documents such as EWIS, Wire Compliance, Cooling Analysis, EZAP and others. Experienced with working directly with DERs, UMs, and/or other FAA regulatory bodies and divisions. Familiar with current FAA regulations applicable to electrical installation. Experienced with leading effort for aircraft wide equipment installation planning including locations, requirements, materials, etc. Selects materials for electrical installations based on electrical requirements and materials specifications. Evaluates trade-offs in materials, composites, coatings, and other selections to best meet design objectives. Works with materials suppliers and material testing when needed. Understands Bills of Materials, assembly concepts, fabrication specifications. Adheres to budget and project schedules. Provides design guidance and feedback to other engineering personnel. Provides liaison engineering support to resolve build and installation issues. Interfaces with cross-functional teams including Mechanical, Stress, Manufacturing, and Certification. Maintains regular attendance including being at work, being on time to work and working full shifts. Other duties as assigned.
