Job Title:
Electrical Design Engineer Job Description We are seeking a talented Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for developing, designing, modifying, and approving electrical designs and Bills of Materials (BOM). Your role will involve liaising with clients and engineers to ensure projects are completed to specifications and on time. You'll conduct research, perform diagnostics, and troubleshoot equipment and systems. Additionally, you will design and build prototypes as part of the development process, work closely with the manufacturing team to meet regulatory and client specifications, and participate in cost estimation and scheduling. Responsibilities + Develop, design, modify, and approve electrical designs and BOM. + Liaise with clients and other engineers to ensure project completion according to specifications and timelines. + Conduct research, perform diagnostics, and troubleshoot equipment and systems. + Design and build prototypes as required. + Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure regulatory and client specifications are met. + Support and participate in cost estimation, scheduling, and execution of projects. + Design oneline and threeline schematics. + Engage in PLC based controls and SCADA programming. + Design DC power systems. + Ensure designs meet standards and codes: NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and other industry standard electrical codes. Essential Skills + Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. + 5+ years of experience in the design and build of power generator equipment. + Expertise in electrical engineering, electrical design, and power generation. + Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and ETAP. + Experience in Medium and Low voltage systems. + Familiarity with turbine engines and components, distribution, and protective relay. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience with manufacturing processes. + Knowledge of electrical codes such as NEC, NFPA, and IEEE. Work Environment The position operates Monday through Friday, and depending on the design phase, you may spend up to three weeks at a time in the shop. You should be adaptable to both office and shop settings. You will handle 1-2 projects simultaneously and engage in client-facing activities. Travel is minimal, less than 20%, with occasional trips to locations such as West Texas for service issues or commissioning. Travel is driven by the demand for modular data centers and is not expected to exceed 2-3 trips. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $76.00 - $84.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
