Better yet, become one! CPI has an immediate need for an Electrical Engineer II in CPI's Round Rock, Texas location. As a CPI Electrical Engineer II, you will occupy a key role in working with and for a company that builds the physical infrastructure that powers, protects and secures the world's digital technology. Day to day you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing various engineering projects, ensuring their successful execution. The Electrical Engineer II will possess a solid foundation in engineering principles, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Conduct comprehensive research, analysis, and evaluations to develop engineering designs, plans, and specifications. Design, prototype, and test engineering systems, components, or structures, employing sound engineering principles and methodologies. Perform detailed calculations, simulations, and modeling to optimize engineering designs and ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards. Identify and resolve technical issues or challenges during the design, development, and implementation phases, ensuring project timelines and objectives are met. Create and maintain accurate documentation, including technical drawings, specifications, and project reports. Collaborate with suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders to source materials, equipment, or services necessary for project implementation. Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and project status updates, providing valuable insights and recommendations. Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in engineering practices, and leverage this knowledge to enhance project outcomes.

Technical Competencies:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, or a related field. Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer or in a similar engineering role for a minimum of 3 to 5 years. In-depth knowledge of engineering principles, theories, and methodologies. Solid understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards relevant to the specific discipline. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically. Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences. Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment. Ability to partition complex tasks and designs into functional parts or areas of investigation. Proven ability to use CAD tools to implement schematic & PCB designs. Proven ability to write & debug scripts/code for hardware or test systems. Proven ability to operate various lab equipment for hardware or system tests. Technical familiarity of engineering codes and safety standards.
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Works on a computer majority of the day. Lift up to 25 lbs. Some travel may be required both by automobile and airplane.
