Job Description

Job Overview Our client, a fast-growing organization in the utility-scale renewable energy sector, is seeking an experienced Director of Electrical Operations to lead and scale electrical execution across large-scale solar power projects. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving safe, high-quality, and efficient electrical construction and supporting commissioning activities across multiple project sites and regions. This position plays a key role in strengthening operational excellence, developing teams, and ensuring consistent execution standards across all projects. About the Client Our client is a well-established renewable energy contractor with a strong footprint across multiple states in the United States. The organization is known for its focus on safety, quality, efficiency, and disciplined project delivery. With a rapidly expanding project portfolio, the company offers long-term growth opportunities and a leadership-driven culture. Key Responsibilities Electrical Operations Leadership Provide senior-level oversight of all electrical construction activities across utility-scale solar projects Establish, implement, and continuously improve electrical standards, procedures, and best practices Lead execution of MV and LV systems including cabling, power collection, inverters, transformers, grounding, and commissioning support Act as the senior electrical authority when interacting with clients, EPC partners, and internal leadership Safety and Compliance Promote a strong electrical safety culture across all projects Ensure compliance with
OSHA, NEC, NESC, NFPA
70E, and project-specific safety requirements Oversee electrical safety programs, audits, JHAs, and corrective action plans Project Execution and Coordination Collaborate with Project Management, Estimating, and Operations teams on scheduling, manpower planning, and forecasting Identify and mitigate electrical risks, constructability challenges, and resource constraints Support mobilization planning, logistics coordination, and material readiness Track production metrics and drive operational transparency People Leadership and Development Lead, mentor, and develop Electrical Superintendents, General Foremen, Foremen, and field teams Build scalable team structures to support multiple concurrent projects Support hiring initiatives and succession planning for future leaders Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement Quality Assurance and Commissioning Support Ensure all electrical installations meet QA and QC standards and testing requirements Oversee inspections, testing documentation, and compliance records Support commissioning, energization, and project closeout activities Qualifications Minimum 10 years of electrical construction experience, preferably in utility-scale solar or large infrastructure projects At least 5 years in a senior leadership role such as Director, Electrical Operations Manager, or Senior Superintendent Strong experience with medium-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems Solid knowledge of NEC, NESC, OSHA, and
NFPA 70E
standards Proven ability to lead large, multi-project electrical teams Experience working within EPC or large subcontractor environments Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and schedules OSHA 30 certification and relevant electrical safety credentials required Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred Willingness to travel extensively to project sites Additional Information Full-time, on-site role with travel Comprehensive benefits package offered Strong leadership exposure and long-term growth opportunity within a rapidly expanding organization Benefits Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Dental insurance Life insurance
