Job Description
Electrical Design Engineer responsible for developing and supporting power distribution equipment designs throughout quoting, order development, manufacturing, testing, and field implementation. Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 3 years of electrical design engineering experience with power distribution equipment. Experience designing switchgear, switchboards, motor control centers (MCCs), or related electrical distribution equipment. Experience creating and interpreting electrical schematics. Experience with one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings. Knowledge of UL standards. Knowledge of ANSI standards. Knowledge of IEEE standards. Knowledge of NEMA standards. Experience supporting products through design, manufacturing, testing, and implementation. Ability to travel and perform field work as required. Preferred Skills Experience with medium-voltage power distribution equipment. Experience with low-voltage power distribution equipment. Experience with ERP systems. Experience developing and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs). Experience with cost-reduction initiatives. Experience with continuous improvement initiatives. Experience supporting electrical equipment manufacturing and testing. Job Responsibilities Participate in technical quote reviews for power distribution equipment. Support order development and engineering requirements throughout the product lifecycle. Develop electrical designs for switchgear, switchboards, MCCs, and related equipment. Create and review electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings. Develop and review Bills of Materials. Review and approve engineering drawings for manufacturing release. Ensure designs comply with applicable UL, ANSI, IEEE, and NEMA standards. Provide engineering support during manufacturing and assembly. Support product testing and resolution of electrical design issues. Support customer implementation and field activities. Coordinate engineering changes throughout design and manufacturing. Support cost-reduction and continuous improvement activities related to product design and manufacturing.
