Job Description

Job Title:
Facilities Electrical Engineer Job Description Manage the electrical and controls scope of process improvement, capital expansion, and obsolescence mitigation projects. Responsibilities Coordinate all phases of assigned projects from concept, scope development, written specifications, bid solicitations, related bid meetings, equipment and facilities engineering/design, manufacturing, and installation through final start-up, acceptance, and project closure. Assist production and maintenance with various types of equipment and process issues from an engineering perspective with key emphasis on maintaining and improving reliability and productivity of systems with specialized technical expertise in the application and use of automation technology for plant facilities and processes. Provide higher-level support for all PLC, HMI, and Robotic systems and programming for all PLC/Scada/Database Systems. Maintain accurate records for all automation programs and all changes to these systems. Propose and execute improvements to existing automation systems and processes. Focus on overall safety of facilities equipment and processes including responsibility and oversight of EHS policies. Oversee contractor work and compliance with Federal/State, Environmental, Health and Safety policies. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution. Minimum of 5 years' experience working with electrical systems such as power distribution, PLC's, HMI's, and database systems. Electrical engineering, PLC programming, PLC troubleshooting, robotics automation, automation. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with Project Management. Basic understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems. Capable of programming ControlLogix/Modicon PLC systems. Experience programming Wonderware, SQL, touchscreen
HMI/SCADA
systems. Understanding of NEC, NFPA, and other pertinent electrical safety standards. Ability to use ACAD/Inventor. Experience working in a manufacturing environment. Work Environment This position is onsite, Monday to Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM, involving both desk and hands-on work. The role offers the opportunity to work on a team while also independently managing projects. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Hampton, VA.
