Emerge is currently recruiting qualified candidates for a direct hire Facilities Electrical Project Engineer job in Hampton, VA for our client, a leading aerospace and industrial components manufacturer. In this role, you will manage the electrical and controls scope of process improvement, capital expansion, and obsolescence mitigation projects, coordinating all phases from concept through final start-up and closure. You will provide higher-level engineering support for PLC, HMI, and robotic systems, while maintaining accurate automation records and driving improvements to existing systems. This position also carries responsibility for the overall safety of facilities equipment and processes, including oversight of EHS policies and contractor compliance. This role offers a salary range of $95,000 to $110,000 per year, along with excellent benefits that start day one, including a 5% bonus. Responsibilities for the Facilities Electrical Project Engineer job in Hampton, VA include: Managing the electrical and controls scope of process improvement, capital expansion, and obsolescence mitigation projects Coordinating all phases of assigned projects, including scope development, specifications, bid solicitations and meetings, engineering/design, manufacturing, and installation through start-up and closure Supporting production and maintenance teams on equipment and process issues, with an emphasis on improving system reliability and productivity through automation technology Providing advanced support for PLC, HMI, and robotic systems and programming across all automation platforms Maintaining accurate documentation for automation programs and system changes Proposing and executing improvements to existing automation systems and processes Overseeing the overall safety of facilities equipment and processes, including EHS policy compliance Overseeing contractor work to ensure compliance with company, federal, state, and environmental health and safety policies Qualifications Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution Minimum of 2 years of experience working with electrical systems such as power distribution, PLCs, HMIs, and database systems. Project management experience Basic understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical control systems Ability to program Allen Bradley/ControlLogix/Modicon PLC systems Experience programming Wonderware, SQL, and touchscreen
HMI/SCADA
