Job Description

Electrical Engineer - Vertical Launch System The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support Vertical Launch System (VLS) engineering efforts within the Maritime Warfare Control Systems Division. This position supports mission-critical launcher systems used across U.S. Navy platforms and provides opportunities to work on complex engineering challenges involving production support, system modernization, and new technology development. What You'll Do Support the engineering, testing, production, and sustainment of Navy Vertical Launch Systems and associated electrical hardware Assist with troubleshooting, design analysis, component updates, and production support activities Work with printed circuit boards (PCBs), electrical interfaces, and related hardware systems Create and review technical documentation, engineering changes, and project deliverables Coordinate with engineers, vendors, program managers, and testing organizations to support technical execution and project schedules Contribute to system integration, testing efforts, and cross-functional engineering projects Communicate technical information clearly and collaborate across teams to solve complex engineering challenges Desired Experience & Skills Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and practices Experience or familiarity with PCB design, fabrication, and testing Knowledge of systems engineering processes and technical documentation Familiarity with engineering change and configuration management processes Experience with project scheduling or resource tracking tools such as MS Project Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment Minimum Qualifications U.S. Citizenship required Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance Bachelor's degree in an engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or related STEM field Experience supporting electrical engineering processess, principles, and practices
