Direct Hire | Full-time About the Opportunity Doherty Staffing Solutions is partnering with a food manufacturing facility in Winchester, VA to hire an Engineering Lead . In this advanced role, you'll lead process, automation, and utilities technology strategies, support continuous improvement initiatives, and guide technical engineering work across multiple facilities. Engineering Lead:
Serve as the company's technology guardian—defining process and controls standards, tech roadmaps, and adherence plans. Approve control narratives, P&IDs, FAT/SAT protocols, and system validation. Drive network conversions, PLC migrations, data historian integrations, and OT modernizations. Support and mentor plant engineering teams and develop engineering technicians. Provide technical direction for "Design for the Workforce" initiatives including safety, ergonomics, and modernization. Lead multi-site technical projects with four engineering teams focused on controls, automation, and plant engineering. Oversee sitewide utilities optimization and system support. Provide crisis-level assistance to facilities as needed. Analyze controls-related data to drive process improvements and digital transformation. Support companywide initiatives regarding cybersecurity and data integrity. Maintain professional representation of the company within the community. What You Need to Bring to the
Engineering Lead Role:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or 5+ years of relevant experience. Must have electrical design experience, you will be the electrical design expert in this position. Proficiency with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate), SharePoint, and Microsoft 365 tools. Experience with SCADA platforms—Ignition strongly preferred. Strong proficiency with CAD tools (AutoCAD, Inventor) for design reference or digital system integration. Excellent communication and technical problem solving skills. Manufacturing or food industry experience preferred. Ability to travel between company facilities as needed. Ability to pass all required pre employment screenings. #DohertyNewCareer Ready to Apply?
