Job Description

SUMMARY:
The Senior Electrical Engineer performs a lead role in taking designs from concept to delivery for space and defense products and systems. This position consults with the Principal Electrical Engineer and company leadership to identify electrical engineering resource needs. The primary focus of this position is technical leadership, with an emphasis on supporting new business development efforts and mentorship of junior engineers, with minimal direct oversight required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs lead role in the electrical design, development, test, analysis, manufacturing, and execution of multi-disciplinary projects, often on multiple programs simultaneouslyGenerates robust designs considering ESD, EMI, and other challenging environmentsCreates and reviews complete drawing packages of electrical designs for manufacturing, cost, and quality assuranceLeads prototyping, hardware assembly, development testing and product qualificationPerforms required calculations and generates comprehensive circuit analysis reportsTakes a leading role in the management of departmental growth and other electrical toolsParticipates in candidate assessments and supports other hiring activitiesSupports technical proposals, quick-turn concept design, and presentation effortsMentor and resource for more junior engineers and helps conduct performance reviews
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or similarTypically possesses significant experience in aerospace, defense, and/or avionicsDetailed knowledge of military specifications and industry standards including IPCProven experience in designing robust hardware that has undergone qualification testingWell versed with circuit simulations tools such as PSPICE and LTSPICEAdvanced experience with testing/troubleshooting techniquesAdvanced experience with schematic capture, PCB layout and routing, and circuit board design principles using Altium Designer or similarProficient experience developing automated test equipment apparatusesExperience utilizing serial communication protocols (RS-422, RS-485, MIL-STD-1553, etc.) and developing serial communication Hardware / SoftwareFamiliarity with C/C++/C#, Python, Matlab (Verilog and VHDL are a plus)Self-motivated, ability to multi-task, work independently on assignments with minimal oversight or direction, quality-oriented and safety consciousPossesses strong electrical aptitude as well as creativity in solving problems; able to track overall goals while focusing on detailsMust be a U.S. Citizen
