Read, interpret, design, and mark up electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, panel layouts, interconnect drawings, and conduit drawings.
Perform electrical calculations including wire sizing, transformer sizing, drive selection, braking resistors, contactors, overload protection, and related power distribution components.
Design electrical control panels and custom enclosures in accordance with NEC and UL508A requirements.
Work closely with Project Managers to ensure engineering deliverables are completed on time.
Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), supporting troubleshooting and problem resolution alongside engineering and field service teams.
Assist with commissioning activities and provide technical support during equipment startup.
Collaborate with purchasing, manufacturing, and service teams to support successful project execution.
Recommend design improvements that enhance product performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
Strong ability to read and create:

AutoCAD Electrical experience is preferred.
Heavy industrial equipment or machinery design.
Motor controls, drives, transformers, and power distribution systems.
Factory or field commissioning experience.

Sterling Engineering is partnering with an industry-leading manufacturer to hire a Project Design Engineer (Electrical). This role is responsible for designing electrical systems for custom industrial equipment from concept through commissioning. The ideal candidate has experience creating and interpreting electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, panel layouts, and interconnect drawings, along with performing electrical calculations for power distribution and control systems. A strong understanding of NEC and UL508A standards is essential. Experience supporting Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) is preferred, and PLC programming experience is a plus.Responsibilities:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field.5+ years of experience in electrical design engineering within an industrial or manufacturing environment.Strong ability to read and create:
