Design emergency and standby generator systems for high-tech and industrial facilities. Design electrical distribution, power, and lighting systems, with medium-voltage system design considered a plus. Create and maintain accurate BIM models and construction documents using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD for MEP and electrical disciplines. Coordinate project requirements with the Project Manager and team leadership to ensure scope, schedule, and quality expectations are met. Communicate project status, issues, and concerns clearly and regularly with team leadership. Collaborate with both in-house and external design team members to produce a high-quality, fully coordinated design. Conduct pre-design site visits and perform as-built documentation to capture existing conditions accurately. Work within established standards and QC/QA practices to maintain consistency and reliability in project deliverables. Apply a strong understanding of the construction process to ensure designs are practical, buildable, and aligned with field conditions. Develop and review distribution layouts, one-line diagrams, lighting layouts, and lighting control systems. Use IECC, ComCheck, and related tools to support energy code compliance and documentation. Utilize software tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Bluebeam, and SKM and/or EasyPower to support design, coordination, and documentation tasks. Attend out-of-office meetings and coordinate with job site personnel as required by project needs. Work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team to meet deadlines in a fast-paced project environment. Essential Skills Minimum of 1 year of hands-on Revit experience on semiconductor, data center, or other high-tech MEP projects. Approximately 5+ years of experience in electrical design within the consulting engineering industry. Proficiency with Autodesk Revit for MEP and electrical modeling and documentation. Proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD for drafting and design coordination. Strong understanding of the construction process and how design decisions impact field execution. Familiarity with NFPA National Electrical Code and International Building Codes. Ability to interpret project scope of work and produce complete, detailed design documentation aligned with AHJ requirements. Ability to design emergency and standby generator systems and related electrical infrastructure. Experience with electrical distribution layouts, one-line diagrams, lighting layouts, and lighting control systems. Ability to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment. Strong communication skills for coordinating with project managers, team leadership, and internal and external design partners. Comfort working in BIM-driven workflows, including modeling, coordination, and construction document production. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience designing semiconductor facilities or other advanced high-tech environments is preferred. Background in MEP design for data centers, industrial, or chemical facilities is highly beneficial. Knowledge of BIM tools and workflows, including Revit Architecture, MicroStation, and other modeling platforms. Exposure to architecture, mechanical, plumbing, and broader MEP disciplines in a design or drafting capacity. Familiarity with IECC and use of ComCheck for energy code compliance documentation. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel for communication and project documentation. Experience using Bluebeam for drawing review, markups, and collaboration. Knowledge of SKM and/or EasyPower software for electrical system analysis is a plus. Experience with visual design and construction document production in commercial work settings. Ability to thrive in a growing MEP BIM department with strong interest in professional development and advancement.
