Job Description
Sedgman USA is looking for an Electrical Designer with hands-on experience on projects ranging from conceptual design to detailed engineering, to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona! The ideal candidate will have experience in creating 2D electrical drawings and 3D modeling (tray layout, lighting, etc). The candidate should have electrical design experience in one or more of the following sectors: industrial, utility, municipal, and/or commercial projects. Industrial or mining electrical design experience would be preferred. Experience in AutoCAD and a 3D modeling package, such as Plant 3D, is a prerequisite. Experience in Navisworks, Autodesk Vault, Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat would be an asset. The Electrical Designer will collaborate with engineers to develop detailed design drawings, documentation, and contribute to the 3D model development of projects. They will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams (mechanical, structural and process) on EPCM projects and will be involved in the entire design process. Key Responsibilities:
Produce detailed electrical design drawings, layouts, and contribute to the development and success of a 3D model for mining process projects using AutoCAD and Pant 3D. Produce detailed electrical design drawings such as: Single line diagrams Motor control center (MCC) arrangements, motor controls and schematics Panel layouts, wiring diagrams, cable terminations, and junction boxes Instrument loop diagrams Electrical room layouts and substation layouts Grounding plans Lighting layouts, cable and cable tray routing Possess some knowledge of codes, regulations and industry standards. Translate engineering concepts into detailed drawings. Work with Project Managers, and engineers to ensure design accuracy. Understand and uphold Sedgman standard specifications, typical/standard drawings, processes and procedures. Provide input for software development to enhance drafting practices About you: Associate Diploma in CAD / or any other formal training certificates Must have 5- 7 years' experience in using AutoCAD, and Plant 3D.
