POSITION SUMMARY
The Layout Specialist is responsible for assisting with and creating points, layout drawings, fabrication drawings, and field coordination drawings in support of the Engineered Solutions (prefabrication) Department. This role utilizes robotic total stations, lasers, layout robots, and other advanced field layout tools and equipment to achieve detailed, accurate field layout at all phases of construction. Potential career paths include, but not limited to: Layout Specialist - BIM Modeler or Layout Specialist - Apprentice Electrician.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Produce accurate field layout using layout tools and equipment in accordance with contract documents Draw dimensioned drawings with points for layout tools and field crew use Communicate and collaborate with team members to ensure deliverables are on time and accurate Identify project issues and assist in submitting RFIs as required Coordinate project details with customers and field personnel Design installation plans for the Engineered Solutions team Participate in Engineered Solutions planning meetings, preconstruction meetings, scrums, and sprints as necessary Accurately lay out field points for underground, wall rough, ceiling rough, and other phases as required Operate layout robots (Dusty) and other similar layout technology Adapt between office-based design work and active field layout as project needs dictate Assist with assembly in the prefabrication shop as workload varies
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
2+ years of electrical experience preferred Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills Proficient with computers, laptops, and tablet computers Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook) Self-motivated and self-starting work style Clean driving record required Experience in the electrical industry strongly preferred Completion of electrical trade school preferred
