Job Description
PLC Programming Instructor (Part-Time) 2 to 4 days per month | On-site | Excellent pay ProTech Institute — Industrial Maintenance Training ProTech Institute needs a part-time PLC instructor to teach our advanced programming and HMI design course. Work just 2 to 4 days per month and earn excellent pay. This is ideal for retired controls engineers or automation professionals who want to share their expertise without going back to the plant floor full-time. About the Role This course goes beyond the basics. Students learn complex PLC logic, structured programming, diagnostic techniques, and HMI design for real production systems. The emphasis is on building code that is easy to troubleshoot, standardized, and built to last. Your experience building and maintaining real systems is exactly what these students need. What You Will Do Teach advanced PLC programming including structured text, function blocks, and modular design Instruct on HMI screen design focused on usability and alarm management Guide students through real-world programming and troubleshooting exercises Cover diagnostic programming techniques for faster fault identification Teach programming standards and documentation practices for maintainable code Share best practices from your own career building and supporting PLC systems Required Qualifications 10+ years of hands-on experience programming and troubleshooting PLCs in industrial settings Proficiency with major platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Mitsubishi Strong experience with
HMI/SCADA
