DOE Guerdon is the premier manufacturer of wood-framed, multi-family, industrial workforce housing, and light commercial modular buildings. Proudly made in the USA at our facility in Boise, Idaho, we serve clients across the Western United States and Canada. With a strong focus on multi-family and multi-story apartments and hotels, our projects are custom-built to meet local codes, client specifications, and architectural design requirements. The Electrical Designer is part of Guerdon's Design team withing the Engineering department. This role is responsible for developing and coordinating electrical shop drawings and BIM models that support efficient modular manufacturing and construction operations.Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain electrical shop drawings, BIM models, and technical details using Revit and related software.
- Design and coordinate electrical systems including power, lighting, and alarm systems in compliance with project requirements and applicable codes.
- Review construction documents, specifications, submittals, and installation manuals to ensure design accuracy and constructability.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, project managers, production teams, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Generate and resolve RFIs, redlines, clash/interference checks, and design revisions.
- Manage BIM coordination processes including model sharing, updates, and conflict resolution.
- Submit drawings for client, consultant, and state review; address comments and revise documents as needed.
- Review and approve vendor drawings and product submittals.
- Support manufacturing and field teams by resolving design-related questions and providing timely updates.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and support junior designers and drafters as directed.
- Participate in department and company meetings while maintaining compliance with company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Associate degree or diploma in Drafting, Design Technology, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of related drafting or electrical design experience.
- Minimum 2 years of BIM modeling experience; Revit experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and BIM/design software.
- Familiarity with modular construction, wood framing, or building systems preferred.
- Ability to create and modify Revit families and coordinate multidisciplinary models.
- Must have reliable transportation and stellar attendance with the ability to work overtime when required to meet project deadlines.

Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, see, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and reach, stoop kneel.
