Job Description

About the Role GRSA is seeking an experienced Senior E&I Designer to join our lean, high-impact Electrical & Instrumentation group. Working directly with our Lead E&I Engineer, you will own the production-oriented side of our detailed design work — drawings, wiring details, conduit schedules, and instrument data sheets — for process and multi-discipline projects at major industrial facilities. This is a key hire that adds critical design bandwidth to a growing department and gives the right person a broad, hands-on role with real ownership across active client projects. What You'll Do Produce detailed E&I design packages: electrical drawings, wiring and termination details, conduit and cable schedules, panel layouts, and instrument installation details. Develop and maintain instrument data sheets, loop diagrams, and instrument index documentation. Support power distribution and controls design, including transformers/switchgear, gas detectors, actuators, and field instrumentation. Prepare and incorporate redlines, bid tabulations, and vendor documentation into project deliverables. Support P&ID, HAZOP, and area classification efforts alongside senior engineering staff. Coordinate with engineers, clients, and vendors to keep deliverables accurate, on-standard, and on-schedule. Apply and uphold NEC/NFPA and client-specific design standards across all work products. What We're Looking For 10+ years of E&I / instrumentation design experience in an industrial, petrochemical, refining, or process consulting environment. Strong proficiency in CAD-based detailed design (AutoCAD or similar) for electrical and instrumentation drawings. Working knowledge of
NEC/NFPA
codes, area classification, and industrial instrumentation and controls. Experience producing instrument data sheets, loop diagrams, conduit/cable schedules, and wiring details. Familiarity with field devices and control platforms (DeltaV, Allen Bradey ControlLogix/CompactLogix, etc) is a strong plus. Excellent attention to detail, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple project deliverables in a fast-paced setting. Associate degree or technical certification in a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered. About GRSA Founded in 1972, GRSA is a full-service engineering firm with deep strength in process and technical services. Our E&I group delivers critical electrical, instrumentation, and controls support for clients including ExxonMobil, Energy Transfer, Dyno Nobel, Marathon Petroleum Corporation, PBF Energy, and other leading industrial facilities. We work in a fast-paced consulting environment that emphasizes quality, engineering standards, clear communication, and client satisfaction — with room to grow your skills across a wide range of projects
