Lead Electrical Engineer / Engineering Manager Send resumes to: Job Summary The Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Designer is responsible for developing detailed electrical and instrumentation design deliverables for oil and gas facilities, pipelines, and related infrastructure. The role supports engineering teams by producing accurate drawings, layouts, and documentation for project execution, construction, and as-built records. The E&I Designer works closely with engineers, project managers, and document control to ensure designs meet project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements. Key Responsibilities Electrical Design Develop electrical design drawings including: One-line diagrams Power distribution diagrams Power plan & Cable tray layouts Cable schedules Grounding and bonding plans Prepare electrical equipment layouts for MCCs, panels, transformers, and switchgear. Design cable routing and installation details for field construction. Assist engineers with load lists and electrical equipment data sheets. Instrumentation Design Produce instrumentation drawings including: Instrument location plans Loop diagrams I/O Block diagrams Equipment elevation drawings Area class plan drawings Junction box layouts Control panel layouts Assist with instrument specification sheets and vendor drawing reviews. Drafting & Documentation Prepare detailed design drawings using AutoCAD or other CAD platforms . Maintain drawing revisions and support IFC (Issued for Construction) and As-Built documentation. Coordinate with document control to ensure proper drawing numbering, revision tracking, and distribution. Project Coordination Collaborate with mechanical, process, and civil disciplines to ensure design integration. Support engineering teams during design reviews and client meetings. Incorporate engineering redlines and field changes into final drawings. Assist with field verification when required. Standards & Compliance Ensure designs comply with: Company engineering standards Client specifications Industry codes such as NEC, API, ISA, and IEEE Maintain drafting standards and consistency across project deliverables. Required Qualifications Associate's degree or technical diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology, Instrumentation Technology, or Drafting (or equivalent experience). 5-10+ years experience in electrical and instrumentation design within oil & gas, petrochemical, or industrial facilities . Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar CAD software. Strong understanding of electrical distribution and instrumentation systems used in oil and gas facilities. Preferred Qualifications Experience with plant design software such as AutoCAD Familiarity with PLC, SCADA, Control & Power systems . Experience working on pipeline, compressor station, or processing facility projects . Knowledge of hazardous area classifications . Key Skills Strong technical drafting and design skills Attention to detail and accuracy Highly motivated Ability to interpret engineering markups and specifications Strong organizational and documentation skills Ability to manage multiple project deliverables and deadlines Work Environment Primarily office-based engineering environment. Occasional site visits to oil & gas facilities or construction sites may be required
