Job Title:
Controls Engineer Job Description The Controls Engineer is responsible for providing technical support, designing, programming, documenting, and commissioning PLC hardware and software for various equipment and machinery within the manufacturing network. Responsibilities Gather information through work orders and collaborate with sales engineers to define the scope of work. Consult with senior controls for best practices and historical information. Create ACAD Electrical print packages. Conduct PLC/HMI programming and manage your workload effectively. Perform in-house machine startup, debug, and tryout of
PLC, HMI
programs, and all necessary electrical accessories. Travel offsite as required for customer support and engineering changes. Maintain a valid passport. Ensure regular and predictable in-person attendance. Demonstrate core values of Quality, Integrity, and On-Time delivery. Willingness to work overtime if applicable. Essential Skills 5+ years of experience in PLC programming and custom machine build experience. Proficiency in Allen-Bradley PLC programming from scratch. Basic understanding of Autocad electrical print packages, Siemens PLC, and robotics. Experience with Fanuc. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with Siemens and Fanuc robotics is a plus. A degree is not required. The company offers to pay for college, certifications, and additional training. Work Environment The work environment includes both office and manufacturing settings. Office spaces have moderate inside temperatures and a quiet to moderate noise level, with frequent interruptions. The manufacturing floor is clean, bright, and updated, painted in white and grey. Travel is typically around 15%, potentially to Mexico and Canada. Flexible work hours are available, with most employees working around 7-8am, allowing for early arrivals and departures. The atmosphere is welcoming, with updated spaces providing a homey feel, and the organization values freedom from micro-management, encouraging collaborative efforts. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenville, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $47.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
