Job Description
Job Summary An engineering and design organization is hiring a Senior Wiring Designer to support the design, modification, and upgrade of new and existing power plant electrical systems. This role works in a collaborative project team environment, provides technical leadership, and partners closely with an Electrical Project Lead and multi-disciplinary engineering teams to deliver detailed electrical designs for large-scale energy and industrial facilities. Responsibilities Lead and contribute to project teams in the design, modification, and upgrade of power plant electrical systems Develop electrical deliverables including single-line diagrams, relay and metering diagrams, AC and DC schematic diagrams, synchronizing diagrams, and point-to-point wiring diagrams Produce detailed electrical wiring drawings for construction and installation Review vendor drawings and incorporate them into the overall project design Assist engineers with initial design requirements and conceptual development Communicate and coordinate with engineering and design teams across multiple disciplines Participate in field walkdowns and assist with on-site data collection at client facilities Qualifications Required Qualifications Associate's degree in drafting, or a high school diploma with equivalent technical design experience 10 or more years of detailed wiring design experience, including development of single-line, relay, and metering diagrams for medium-voltage and 480V systems Experience using Bentley Raceway & Cable Management (BRCM) software Extensive experience with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD on power plant or large facility projects Familiarity with digital control systems Strong understanding of drafting and design practices and theories Ability to produce wiring diagrams and schematics for installers and electricians Ability to conceptualize plans and details to accurately convey wiring termination requirements Proven ability to interface and communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary engineering and design teams Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field Additional Information Role is based in St. Louis, Missouri Employment authorization sponsorship is not available for this position
