Electrical EIT or Designer Electrical Engineering Billings, Montana Description Electrical EIT or Designer Position Description Cushing Terrell is hiring an Electrical EIT or Designer to take ownership of electrical design across a wide range of project types, including power distribution, lighting design, life safety systems, and arc flash and short circuit studies. You will produce construction documents spanning branch circuit design, service and feeder calculations, panel schedules, and lighting layouts for projects across a wide variety of markets. You will also build one-line diagrams and run arc-fault, short circuit, and arc flash studies, and your understanding of emergency power systems, including generators, UPS systems, and battery-backed life safety lighting, to keep designs codepliant. What does success look like year one? You are independently producing one-line diagrams and arc flash studies, taking the lead on assigned electrical scopes, and contributing specifications and technical documentation from design development through construction administration, with the latitude to help shape your own project mix over time. Position Salary Range
  • The expected salary range for this position is $67,000 to $85,000 annually. Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent qualifications 5 or more years of job-related electrical design experience, including power distribution, motors and motor feeders, lighting, or code-required life safety design Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Outlook, and Microsoft Office Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with electrical engineering design skills applied in an architecture and engineering practice Preferred Qualifications•Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) license Did you know that some people hold back on ing to jobs if they don't meet 100% of the listed requirements?

  • Develop electrical construction documents in Revit and AutoCAD, including branch circuit design, service and feeder calculations, panel schedules, and lighting layouts, acrossmercial, retail, healthcare, and residential project types Build one-line diagrams and perform arc-fault, short circuit, and arc flash studies to support codepliant electrical distribution design working knowledge of emergency power systems, including generators, UPS systems, and battery-backed life safety lighting, to meet governing life safety codes Design lighting systems and controls in alignment with applicable energy codes, balancing performance,pliance, and client standards Take ownership of design decisions across assigned scopes, coordinating directly with Project Engineers and Engineers of Record electrical engineering principles and analytical problem-solving to resolve design challenges across power, power distribution, and motor and motor feeder systems Contribute specifications and technical documentation supporting construction document sets from design development through construction administration Working at Cushing Terrell Cushing Terrell is a multidisciplinary design firm with 17 offices and more than 500 team members who bring together their expertise to deliver holistic built environments.

  • Actual pay will be determined based on the candidate's years of experience, licensure status, location, level of proficiency, and other job-related factors (as permitted by law). This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus.
