Job Description

Job Title:
Electrical Drafter Job Description We are seeking a skilled Electrical Drafter to create and update electrical construction drawings, single-line diagrams, riser diagrams, panel schedules, and cable and conduit layouts. You will produce as-built drawings from field sketches and marked plans, coordinate drawings with mechanical, architectural, and structural disciplines, and prepare shop drawings and fabrication details as required. Compliance with NEC and project specifications, maintaining CAD libraries and templates, revising drawings based on engineer/field feedback, and assisting with BOMs and materials are key responsibilities. Responsibilities Create and update electrical construction drawings, single-line diagrams, riser diagrams, panel schedules, and cable and conduit layouts. Produce as-built drawings from field sketches and marked plans. Coordinate drawings with mechanical, architectural, and structural disciplines. Prepare shop drawings and fabrication details as required. Ensure compliance with NEC and project specifications. Maintain CAD libraries and templates. Revise drawings based on engineer/field feedback and maintain document control. Assist with BOMs, material management, and project documentation. Communicate effectively with engineers, project managers, and field staff. Essential Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD is required. 4 to 5 years of electrical drafting/designing experience in commercial projects. Strong drafting accuracy and layout skills. Ability to read electrical plans and single-line diagrams. Familiarity with electrical symbols, NEC requirements, panel schedules, and conduit/cable practices. Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively. Additional Skills & Qualifications Associates degree (A.S.) in computer design field preferred or equivalent technical school or equivalent experience in AutoCAD, design or field experience. 4-10 years of experience, knowledge of construction field, reading blueprints and architectural drawings preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Complex problem solving ability required. Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, group atmosphere. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, including M/E/P construction or systems manufacturing and Xrefs. Work Environment Enjoy an easy-going environment with unique projects including historic projects. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $43.27/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
