This is an in-person job only, located in Las Vegas, Nevada. This role is responsible for designing basic to moderately complex electric utility improvements, aligning with customer-specific needs and project requirements. The position involves preparing new design layouts, work orders, and cost estimates for Capital Maintenance construction projects. The individual in this role may also serve as the primary point of contact for external stakeholders such as customers, developers, contractors, engineering firms, local agencies, utilities, and governmental bodies. The primary focus is on understanding customer requirements related to electric utility design, standards, and policies, while fostering strong project-specific business relationships. This includes guiding customers through the Capital Maintenance process and ensuring that service commitments are met. The role also entails creating, negotiating, and managing financial and contractual agreements with external clients, while providing high-quality customer service to both internal and external parties. Additionally, the position may require conducting field checks for new meter sets on electric utility improvements, ensuring accurate voltage, amperage, and panel sizing, and verifying that final inspections, energization, and proper identification have been completed. The role includes operating a company vehicle as needed. This position also ensures design quality control, delivering high-quality results for all stakeholders. Proficiency in AUTOCAD is required. The role may involve other related tasks as needed, for which the employee is trained and qualified to perform safely. Compensation will be in line with the prevailing wage as per the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Requirements Previous Utility Design/Planning experience. Proficiency in AUTOCAD drafting software. Strong understanding of system design principles and ability to read technical schematics. Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. Willingness to learn new technologies and methods related to utility operations.
