About the position:
As a Field Technician, you will be responsible for installing, programming, and maintaining various Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems, and related industrial process instrumentation. We're looking for someone with a strong technical background and the ability to work independently in the field while supporting our customers' automation and control system needs. This position also requires working outdoors and physically installing devices.
Qualifications :
3-8 years of experience with Ladder Logic programming, installation, and commissioning on various software's. Strong computer, server, and networking knowledge, with a solid understanding of industrial instrumentation Instrumentation (I&E) or engineering experience preferred, with an emphasis on programming and daily technical system support Experience with SCADA system design and data management platforms such as Plow's OnPing or similar preferred. Must be familiar with equipment from various manufactures to install and service a wide range of systems. Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work directly with customers. Must have a valid driver's license.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and commission Distributed Control Systems (Allen Bradly) and related automation equipment. Program, maintain, test, and troubleshoot PLC systems, automation controls, and industrial process instrumentation. Perform system upgrades, field calibrations, and preventative maintenance to ensure system reliability and performance. Provide on-site technical support for troubleshooting and resolving complex hardware and software issues. Work with a wide range of industrial equipment, including PLCs, RTUs, control devices, and measurement systems. Collaborate with engineering teams and clients across multiple industries — including oil and gas (upstream and midstream), renewable energy, and manufacturing — to define requirements and ensure successful installations. Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning of automation and measurement systems to meet operational standards. Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, installations, and service activities. Travel to customer sites throughout the U.S. to support system installations, service calls, and technical projects. Drive continuous improvement in customer success processes and tools. Represent the voice of the customer in internal planning and product development discussions. Must be available to travel to job sites
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift 25+ pounds periodically. Ability to see, respond, and report to potentially hazardous situations. Frequent bending, walking, climbing, kneeling, sitting, and standing for extended periods. Must be able to wear PPE/safety gear as required at customer sites.
